Can you tell the difference between a low end Squier Affinity Series strat and Buddy Guy’s personal polka dot axe? Take the Squier Challenge and find out. Yesterday afternoon we went on stage and did a live recording with several different guitars, all using the middle setting on the pickups and a flat EQ on a Fender Twin Reverb. As much as possible we made the tone and volume settings consistent. Now it’s time to find out if you can tell the difference. Here’s what we recorded:
– A white Fender Squier Affinity Series Strat (from our 78 Years package)
– A made-in-Mexico Fender Buddy Guy Signature model polka dot strat
– A 1961 Fender Strat reissue, made in Japan
– Buddy Guy’s personal polka dot Fender Strat, once with the “bright” setting on the amp and once without
– An acoustic National.
