The Chicago blues community is still reeling with the news that energetic bluesman Eric “Guitar” Davis was shot and killed in the early morning of December 19th. He was headed home after hanging out late at the Kingston Mines. He was a fiery performer with a bright future (he was recently signed to Delmark Records to cut an album in 2014) and he will be sorely missed.
According to police reports the 41 year old Davis was found dead in his car in the 6700 block of South East End Avenue. No suspects are currently in custody, and police are investigating.
