Looking Back: Buddy Guy’s Blues Fest 2017

Blues Fest is always an amazing time of year. Food, drinks, and more music than you can shake a diddley bow at. What truly makes Blues Fest amazing is the fans who come from all over the world to the city of Chicago to revel in a shared experience. A form of story telling and communication that has been passed down from generation to generation, but unlike some other forms it is inclusive. No matter who you are or what you do, the blues wants you.

In 2017 Mark Maddox brought us a fantastic Blues Fest line up that included Chicago staples and favorites including Eddy Clearwater, Lurrie Bell, Toronzo Cannon, Corey Dennison and many, many more. This year also saw the Cruise to the Blues say a heartfelt goodbye after 28 years. The charity event raised money for the veterans home in Manteno and in many were like part of the Legends family, and they will be missed.

It was an amazing Blues Fest here at Buddy Guy’s Legends, with fantastic artists putting on wonderful shows. With all of the up and coming blues artists I cannot wait until next year to see what’s we do next year!

Check out some of the live videos from Blues Fest weekend and keep an eye out on our Facebook page for more upcoming live events including Buddy’s Birthday August 2nd!
