KALAMAZOO, MI — Five-time Grammy Award-winning bluesman and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Buddy Guy will headline this summer’s Taste of Kalamazoo.
The 28th annual festival featuring food, live music and more will be held July 26-28 at the Arcadia Creek Festival Place.
The Louisiana-born Guy, 76, is considered a pioneer of the Chicago blues. Rolling Stone ranked him 30th on the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He made his debut in 1965 with “Hoodoo Man Blues.”
He’s won five Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Blues Album (1991, ’93, ’95, 2003, 2010).
Guy will perform at 10 p.m. July 27 at Taste.
He will be joined by Massachusetts teenage guitarist Quinn Sullivan, who has toured with Guy and performed on the Grammy nominated album, “Skin Deep,” in 2008.
Guy and Sullivan performed at the Frederick Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids in 2011.
